Miracles still happen today! 2001 has been the time of extraordinary miracles. On March 2nd I sat in a hospital waiting room while Freddy (my husband) underwent extensive cardiac tests. The week before we had been told that with the enlarged heart Freddy was diagnosed with and the value blockages and the leakage, we were probably facing more than an enlarged artery. The doctor had already told us that by-pass surgery could be the only solution. Since 1986 Freddy has had test after test for his heart condition and has had 3 heart attacks. Doctors had seriously advised us not to go to Romania and had literally drawn for us diagrams pinpointing the blockages. One blockage was supposed to be in a very dangerous location and we had been advised that Freddy not have surgery to correct it because it would probably have been fatal. When we left for Romania, Freddy was taking 25 pills a day for his heart and high blood pressure. That is why Friday sitting in the hospital waiting room seemed unbearable. Suddenly the Holy Spirit prompted me to get out my Bible and read, read, read. That is what I did. As I read, my spirit went from downcast and heavy to soaring. The more I read the lighter my spirit became. Everything I read in the Word told me that God is truly God. Isaiah 48:17, "Thus says the Lord Your Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel, I AM the Lord Your God who teaches you to profit, who leads you by the way you should go." And then in Isaiah 49: 6, "Indeed He says, is this too small a thing that you should be My servant? I will also give You as a light to the Gentiles, that You should be My salvation to the ends of the earth." There was a promise from God to His people. He is not too small that He cannot or will not lead us into blessings. The Salvation and Resurrection Power of Jesus Christ is still with us. His Word has not lessened in power and He still works in our behalf. Isaiah 50:2, "Is my hand shortened at all that it cannot redeem? Or have I no power to deliver? Indeed with My rebuke I dry up the sea." God wanted us to believe; He wanted us to see His deliverance. In the New Testament miracles were a sign to the unbeliever, yes; but as believers we get to stand in the midst of His presence while He works the miracle. We have the honor of seeing His mighty outstretched hand before us. Friday, March 2nd, I saw the miraculous power of God displayed.When the doctor returned to the waiting room, instead of preparing me for the dangerous surgery ahead, he reported that Freddy’s heart was no longer enlarged, that he has no leakage now in any valve and that there are no evidences of the blockages, or the previous heart attacks. No scars anywhere on the on the heart muscle. Then the doctor took us back to x-ray and showed us all the reports and that there was nothing, absolutely nothing visibly wrong with his arteries now. The doctor looked at Freddy and said that there was no health reason to hinder him from going to Romania or anywhere else in the world if he should desire to go. Praise Jesus! For we serve an awesome God, a God like no other, who does all He pleases to do. If He purposes it, He will do it. Presently, after almost one year (as of March) Freddy is continuing to do well. While you read this, stop for a moment and just join with us in giving a heartfelt thanksgiving offering of praise to our God.
