September 2003 Praise God: “Praise God, from whom all blessing flow; Praise Him, all creatures here below; Praise Him above, ye heavenly host; Praise Father, Son and Holy Ghost.” Have you ever just felt so blessed of God that you went around with this song flowing constantly through your heart and mind? Recently that song has become very precious and dear to me. As I look back over the last 8 months and see all God has done I stand in awe of HIM. In January when I came home my family was being bombarded from all directions. It seemed as if the enemy was determined that he was going to come at my family to steal and kill, and to destroy everything God had blessed us with. It seemed like all the powers of darkness had been turned loose to try to hinder us from moving forward in the kingdom of God. John 10:10 -“The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy.” However, unfortunately for satan he hadn’t paid much attention to the last part of that verse when Jesus said, “I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.” Sometime in February the Holy Spirit pressed my heart to memorize John 10:10 and quote it everyday. If we would only believe exactly what this scripture is telling us, we could see Jesus transform any situation in our life to one of abundance in Him. Over the past 8 months I have learned so much in the school of Jesus. I have seen that in and through all circumstances of life God is our restorer, our deliverer, our help, our comfort, our support, our stay, and our provider. He has been all this and more to us this year in a special way. I have heard it said before, “That we never realize what blessings we have until those blessings are being threatened. We are all so blessed of God but normally we never take the time to really look and see them for what they are. We take for granted God’s dearest blessings and even forget to thank Him for what He has given us. There is not a morning that dawns now that I don’t wake up saying, “I thank you God for your love, your grace, your mercy and for being the Lord of my life. I thank you God for your abundant blessings upon me.” Why am I so pumped up in Jesus? Because He is the God from whom ALL blessings flow. This year I have witnessed God turn around for good tough circumstances that satan meant to harm us with. God, on the other hand, has used these tough times to bring us closer to Him and also to make our family more complete. Never have I felt so united as a family as I do now. It is such a joy to see situations in our life that once looked hopeless suddenly transformed before our eyes. As we hold on and confidently trust God, we see HIS glorious outcome and also see what HE wanted to do in us in the first place. He shapes and reshapes, molds and remolds us into what HE wants us to become. In the midst of it all He is the one in control. As we yield to His sculpting knife, He brings even more blessings than we ever could have thought or imagined. That is truly what has happened with us this year. Unlimited amount of blessings, too numerous to recount! That is why I am shouting for joy.In 8 months God has:
Who could ever say there is no God? Who could ever deny the power of God? Why would God bless in so many miraculous ways? Because of what His Word says, John 2:23 (KJV) “Now when HE was in Jerusalem at the Passover, in the feast day, many believed in his name, when they saw the miracles which he did.” Jesus desires that His people see the glorious works that only He can do when we believe in HIS Word. He has already promised them to us. We rejoice over all God has done and continue to rejoice now as we set our hands to work in service for Him in Romania once again. Much work has to be done over the next few months so pray for us daily that God will continue to move the mountains before us. Our greatest prayer is that souls will be won for Jesus as we work to build those spiritual walls around Romania.Prayer for Outreaches: I am very excited about having two very special people come soon to visit Calea, our own pastor from First Assembly of God, Pastor Randy Reid, and Pastor Morris Horton of New Life Assembly (my step-father). They will be joining us on the mission field Nov. 3rd – 12th. It will be the first time either of them has been able to come and see the work that God has done in Romania the last 5 years. We have prayed for years that God would send us shepherds to help us in some of the villages that need a shepherding touch.
In December we have our annual “Christmas in Romania” outreach scheduled Dec. 9th – 19th. Diane Smoot of Ocala, FL will be leading a team of 23 to minister the gospel through giving, but most importantly by sharing the gift of God’s love through HIS Word.
Adoption: Alexandra and Sarah’s adoption files are in Bucharest now, for the final approval. Barbara is so hopeful that the approval will come soon and they can be a “surely to goodness” family. We continue to pray every day here for the favor of the Lord, the favor of the adoption committee, and for a hedge of protection around them in Zalau. We try to remain watchful over everything concerning this matter. We do not wish to be ignorant of satan’s devices. His plan 18 months ago was to destroy this what God was putting together, but that which was meant for evil has been rerouted and has brought about God’s fruit. Barbara continues to branch out deeper and deeper in the community with service work to the hospital and library in Zalau, as well in a mission of joy to her neighbors. Please continue with us in prayer that the glory of God will continue to be demonstrated in this matter, and that soon and very soon the adoption will be completed, this year, 2003. Copiii Regelui: (Lyn Dennis) Copiii Regelui is nearing summer’s end. In the past three months the children have grown in the Lord and His Word. We appreciate all the help that came from the young people who have weekly put their hand to the plow in Ferma Larga and some are already making plans to be back next summer. Although the children’s outdoor program will technically end September 6th, God is not now nor will He then be finished in Ferma Larga for this year. We know that He has something else in store for this small, extremely poor community, and we are waiting anxiously for Him to reveal the next step. Our Sincere Thanks: Thank you all for your prayers for us this past year. It certainly is obvious that His power is operating through your prayers accordingly to Jam 5:16 b; “The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective.” Thank all of you that have sent in donations for the work projects we have scheduled. Your faithfulness for your extra gift has already been rewarded back unto you for the Word says, “God loves a cheerful giver.” That tells me His eyes are upon your gifts and He will be faithful to reward you. When we receive our financial statement each month we never miss a chance to lay hands on every name listed and pray a special prayer blessing of return upon each of you. Your gifts never go unnoticed by us; but even more than that, Jesus sees your gifts and regards them as hearts that delight in ministering to the poor and needy as He did. Thank you all for giving us the opportunity to share our heart for Jesus Christ to the people of Romania. Our prayers are with you as you continue to pray for us! God bless you all! Yours In Christ, Freddy and Rita
