Transition Program

In 1999 Calea initiated its transition program for young girls released at the age of 18 from state-run orphanages. The program is a four phase program designed to transition girls from institutional backgrounds of dependency toward independent living. Temporary housing and job assistance are provided. Calea’s program attempts to motivate the girls in the areas of self-discipline and securing critical life skills for success. Girls must maintain employment while in the program and must attend weekly church services.

Center For Chosen Children

In October, 2001 Calea Adevarului embarked on the foundation’s newest program and opened the Center for Chosen Children in Zalau. The center is a foster-care facility which provides an alternative to institutional living for abandoned or displaced children. The Center was formed after “Alexandra”, a one-month old baby living at the Cluj dump, was placed in the foundation’s care by her parents who were afraid for her life. Presently, Alexandra and her sister, Andrada, reside at the Center. The aim for the Center is to provide a safe and nurturing environment for the youngest of God’s children, to rescue children one by one from a life of begging and living on the street. The center is a foster-care facility which provides an alternative to institutional living for abandoned or displaced children.
