Easter with Family - Few and Far Between: ![]() Missionary
life is without a doubt an extraordinary life, filled with witnessing the
miraculous first-hand. However, no matter how wonderful the experience, we still
can’t help but miss our family and those special moments that many of you share
each week with family and friends. This year we were able to share Easter with
both our children, Krys and Andrew. The whole week of Easter Krys, Micah, Alex,
and Noah were here from Virginia and we all had time to share and enjoy family
time once again. Andrew came over during work one day and Krys, Andrew, Morris
(their grandfather), and I were able to have lunch together. All week long our
house was rocking and rolling with the sounds of the 2 grand-boys and what a joy
it was to watch their little imaginations entertain them everyday as they went
on their “caterpillar” hunts. Armed with their fruit jars, they darted out early
every morning collecting as many caterpillars as they could find in one day.
Once they
collected all they could find, they sat down and let the caterpillars crawl all
over them. Yep, I remember those days but now it just seems to make my skin
crawl. Still, I must admit it sure was fun watching them find such pleasure in
the simple things. Then to top things off, Monika’s husband Mark taught the boys
how to catch bumblebees. I had never seen that before! He had all the boys out
in the yard with a bee tied on a string and it looked just like airplanes flying
round and round. What a sight! But it did keep the boys occupied all day and
they really enjoyed it. Notice, I said the boys enjoyed it; but little Lauren,
our granddaughter, chose to stay inside for fear that the boys would put a
bumblebee on her. Bless her little heart! Yes, it was indeed a different kind of
week!
All the
grandchildren -Alex, Noah and Lauren- are growing in leaps and bounds. Alex and
Noah are definitely “all boys” for sure and little Lauren is definitely “all
girl.” Alex is 6 now, Noah 5, and Lauren 4. When they are all around there is
never a dull moment. All of them are in school (Lauren in day-care). I could
not help but notice that Alex can read a little now. So I guess Krys and I will
have to watch our spelling out words to keep them from knowing what we are
saying.
The time with our family – just sitting around enjoying each other’s company – was so wonderful and we took so many mental pictures - pictures that will last a lifetime. Times like these are important to the children of God and I thank God for the time that we spent all together as a whole family this Easter. Congratulations Is Due:
Just recently we learned that our family is going to be increasing soon. Andrew and Allison are expecting a child in October. Congratulations to them both. Lauren, our granddaughter, is hopeful for another little girl and Andrew is hopeful for a boy, but Allison is just hopeful for the day when the baby actually arrives. She says, “She will be happy with what God blesses them with.” What a wonderful blessing of increase! Our prayers are that God will bless Andrew and Allison with daily provision and with His wisdom as they train up their children in a Godly manner. Construction Teams Gearing Up: Network Limited of Ocala, Florida will be bringing a team of construction workers to help as we start work on the building in Ferma Larga. Praise God, for those who are willing to come and be about the Father’s business in planting this church. We are looking at the first of October to begin their work since plane tickets are very high during the months of July and August. We need your help! We need funds to help in the restoring of the building. Network Limited has always in the past have purchased their plane tickets and covered the cost of the construction project. But this year the cost of plane tickets are so expensive it has put a toll on them. All of the men that are coming are volunteering their time and their vacation in order to serve God through their talents. However, we need financial help in order to purchase the supplies needed to begin repairing this building. Will you help us plant this church? We continue to ask that you help us with those items that I mentioned in last month’s newsletter. We really need the gas-powered generator and tools. Also, if anyone of you has ever wanted to lend your services on the mission field in some kind of construction ministry, please feel free to call Network Limited at (352) 687-4600 or call us at 205-755-4000. We need anyone who can help with cement walls, plumbing, electrical, roofing, and just anyone who is willing to donate their time. We need funds to purchase the supplies before the team arrives. Months before the crew is due to arrive I will need to start purchasing all the needed materials. All of us are needed to work together to accomplish what we feel God has placed upon our hearts. Please, I am appealing to you all so that we can plant this church together. Children’s Program: Lyn Dennis, Coordinator: Our children's program begins June 23rd and will run through September 8th. That's each Friday at 2:00 p.m. in Ferma Larga. The program will be held in front of the building in Ferma Larga and the children and workers will be claiming the land for the Kingdom of God. This year's theme will be "Dressing for Success, Putting on the Whole Armor of God". We are very excited about this series, but we already know that we will need lots and lots of prayer going out. Satan does not want the Word of God to go out that can empower God's people and arm them against his attacks. Spiritual warfare is always a difficult topic, but GREATER IS HE WHO IS IN US, THAN HE WHO IS IN THE WORLD. The backdrops and visual aids are coming together. We found an old war helmet at the bizarre and Codruta (secretary) has begun work on the memory verse posters. They are outstanding. God is truly directing her hands as she brings each verse to life. Please pray for God’s direction is putting together all aspects of the program. We are going to the “enemy’s camp and taking back what was stolen.” New Ministry Added, Ladies Bible Study: This year Calea will be adding a new ministry in Ferma Larga and Ferma Cojocna. On May 9th we will begin a ladies' Bible study in both Ferma Larga and Ferma Cojocna. Ms. Lyn Dennis will be heading up a study on the book of Luke - "Jesus, the One and Only." Knowledge is power and we intend to make the knowledge available to these ladies that Jesus is alive and working in our homes, families, and our own lives TODAY. We want to equip the women with the power of “calling on the Name of Jesus” in the midst of their adversities. But in order for them to recognize this power and its availability to them, they must first come to know Him as He was, He is, and He will continue to be - the only Begotten Son of God - the Redeemer of broken lives. Needless to say, we will need a powerful anointing of the Holy Spirit at each and every meeting. Our goal is to see hearts touched and lives changed. We will meet two days a month - the first and third Tuesday of every month. Please mark these dates on your calendars and pray over each day. Time is growing short with each passing day. "Do not say, 'Four months more and then the harvest?' I tell you, open your eyes and look at the fields! They are ripe for harvest." (John 4:35) Update on Alex and Sarah: We need you to not let up on praying for Barbara and the girls and the adoption. God has worked extraordinary things this year, yet we ask that you do not let up praying until the adoption is finalized, stamped and sealed. The adoption officials have already increased the number of days before the process can begin than was originally told to Barbara. The 45-day waiting period before beginning the adoption process has been changed to 60 days. Children's Protection has made one home visit to the center and has given Barbara a long list of questions to answer. And we understand that there will be at least 5 more home visits with more questions. Thanks to the Following Church: Our thanks to Pastor Gary and Eloise Voyles of New Covenant Baptist for inviting us to come and share about our work. Your interest in Romanian missions is most appreciated. Our thanks to you and your church for your generous love offering! Returning to Romania: Very soon I will be leaving to go back to Romania. It has been a great time here with family and friends but there is a lot of work that has already been scheduled for this year. We ask that you be in prayer that God will work through us in a tremendous way so that many can be added to the Kingdom of God. · If any of you would like for us to come speak at your church before leaving, please call at: 205-755-4000. Thank You: We want to express our gratitude for your continued donations every month and we ask that you pray for us as we continue the work in Romania. You have always proven to be a source of great strength to us through your financial and prayerful support. Our prayer daily for you is that God return these blessings to you abundantly. Yours in Christ, Freddy and Rita
