GREAT IS HIS FAITHFULNESS! By the time you read this letter I will already be back in Romania. I thank God for the “times of refreshing” HE has allowed us to have during our time in the States with family and friends. But now it is the appointed time to gear up for the very busy summer that lies ahead. Summer Activities: Preparation is already underway for the work ahead. When I arrive back in Cluj, I will hit the streets running. It begins with a bang! First we begin with the arrival of the hospital equipment shipment from “Convoy of Hope”, of Springfield, Missouri. A large semi truckload of hospital and hygiene material will arrive within days of my return and then the equipment will have to be distributed to hospitals and institutions in Cluj and Salaj counties. This is indeed an answer to a long time dream and this year God has brought it all together and is allowing us the awesome privilege of seeing it come to pass. Excitement is racing through my veins. Seven years ago I envisioned large loads of humanitarian aid going into Romania. Why has it taken seven years to come about? Why is it being fulfilled at this time? I believe God has His own timetable. He lays the groundwork for His work long before it comes about. A network of relationships with governmental organizations and local authorities had to be in place beforehand and we at Calea had to witness firsthand the needs of Romania’s people. Seven years a dream, but not one day too early, not one day too late. June Team: After this we then move straight into our first team for the season. June 19th –26th we have a team of men and women from Mobile, Alabama coming to help us with ministry projects. They will be conducting children’s programs, street evangelism, and building benches for a “New Vision” that Lyn has for Ferma Larga’s children. Hopefully, the children will move inside a building this year. An indoor program will lead to more in-depth teaching of God’s love and His Word and will provide a transition from the outside camp atmosphere to a more church-like environment. We also have plans, God willing, to start a ladies’ Bible study there this summer and begin to reach whole families and not just the children. Also, Pastor Morris Horton (my stepfather) will return with me to Romania June 7th. Since his visit with us last year his heart has been pressed by the Holy Spirit to minister the Gospel to the young men of Ferma Larga and to begin to mentor them in becoming Godly leadership for their families and their community. All Things Work Together - Street/Water Distribution: Just recently the Holy Spirit reminded me of this verse in Romans 8:28 for the simple purpose of showing me that His hand works for us through all life’s circumstances. During the last 2 years when we were home itinerating, we have had the awesome opportunity to help in a ministry outreach in our home church. Pastor Randy’s goal is to lead his congregation into not just working in the church but to challenge us to take the Gospel message to the streets. Many of the Assemblies of God have undertaken outreaches into their communities through the “100 Man Challenge.” To us it was very exciting because this is something dear to my heart - street and village witnessing. We did not know then the reason why God pressed our hearts to be a part of this ministry outreach but God always has a reason for all our life’s opportunities. That is why He says to us in Romans 8: 28; “And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose.” God truly knows far more than we can ever think or imagine. So on June 22nd we will be taking this same type of ministry outreach onto the streets of Cluj. During the “The 100 Man Challenge” this spring in my home church, God spoke to my spirit and said, “Take this to the streets of Romania.” I was overwhelmed when I heard it but did not say anything for a long time. I prayed and waited to know for sure that it was of God and not just the excitement of the outreach. For sure it was of God! For He has told us or should I say commissioned us to take the Gospel of Jesus to all the nations. I realized that I was in training right here under my own Pastor, but of course that is why he is the shepherd of the flock. He challenges us to step outside our comfort zone to reach the lost and share the “Living Water” to all those we can. I learned how handing out a simple bottle of cold water could powerfully impact a community for Jesus. I learned how taking a little time to love on your community with free car washes, handing out the book of “Hope”, and doing a community-wide “children’s outreach” can impact your town. Jesus desires for us to take the Gospel from within the walls of our churches to all the streets and hedges. You might be saying, “But Rita, isn’t that what you have been doing the past 6 years in Romania?” Yes, we have already been taking the Gospel into many villages; we have distributed tracts on the streets, and given away Bibles. as we went door to door. We have given away thousands of pounds of clothing, food, and medicines. We have restored roofs on houses, gone into isolated areas with children’s programs and even held evangelism outreaches in different villages. “So, what is so different about this day of ministry?” Well, for years I have avoided the streets of Cluj-Napoca. I was afraid it was too large for us. Cluj-Napoca is the second largest city in Romania. A street distribution would take lots of workers, lots of wisdom, a local church that would be willing to work closely with us and receive the harvest. I felt we were under-qualified for such a large task. That is until now! The Holy Spirit has placed within me a zeal and excitement to see that this gets done. All things work together for the good of those who love the Lord and are called according to His purpose. Even the timing! The timing of the Lord was for this hour. God knew that I would gain experience and leadership from our home pastor and He knew that I would need to physically be a part of the action there before this project could go into the streets of Romania. I am very excited at what God has birthed into my spirit. He has given the vision and He has provided a Spirit-filled Christian church in the center of Cluj-Napoca that is willing to work with us in this venture. Thank Jesus for His God-appointed time. A Call for Special Help in the month of JUNE: Now this is what I would ask you to help us with as partners and co-laborers of Christ …
Total Cost of “Water Distribution” materials (not including materials for the children’s program), benches for Ferma Larga children’s church, and cost of renting a large truck for the delivery of the humanitarian aid totals $1,235.00.When you think about all we are doing during the month of June that is a small figure for the price of winning the lost. Think about the money we spend daily on cokes and snack foods. Think of the cost we put into ministry projects in our churches here in the States. Think about the cost of a get away weekend. Will you be in prayer about what God would have you do to help us carry the Gospel into the streets of Cluj. I know you cannot be there but you can help us go and touch the people of Romania. For such a time God has so ordained that the people in Cluj be reached with the Truth of Jesus Christ. For such a time as this we were chosen. God personally picked this time, this year! And I know, that I know, that I know this is certain. As Pastor Randy says, “Think about it……. when we do the water distribution, in…
That is too awesome to grasp when you think about it!!! Thank You: I am not sure you are even aware that when you help carry the Gospel across the nations that it activates a powerful supernatural principle in your life. In helping and agreeing with us in ministry we are allowing God to join us through His Spirit to work as “one.” As we work, live, and operate on the mission field, that same power of God is available to YOU too as laborers in the field. We literally share in the same anointing together as one in the call of God! Paul knew the power in partnership, Phil. 1:5; “(I thank my God) for your fellowship (your sympathetic cooperation and contributions and partnership) in advancing the good news (the Gospel) from the first day (you heard it) until now.” AMP. Our prayer for you is that God will mightily bless you in a supernatural way this year. HE IS ABLE!
Yours in Christ Freddy and Rita
