Victory Through Prayer:

Freddy and I will be returning to Romania September 2nd. We are both excited about returning and seeing first hand the work that God has continued to accomplish through our co-workers there in Romania. We are very thankful to God for blessing our family and bringing us through the difficult times that we were facing at the beginning of this year. We have been refined as a family in the WORD of GOD and we are grateful for the things He has brought us through. Through trials and tribulations we have grown in Jesus Christ. HE has remolded us and re-shaped us in His refining fire and has burned out dross that we otherwise would might never have known was there The Scripture in 2 Cor. 1:11 says,Ye also helping together by prayer for us, that for the gift bestowed upon us by the means of many persons thanks may be given by many on our behalf. ” (KJV) Thank you for praying for us!

Co-laborers needed: 1 Cor. 3:9

Miracle House:

I am not sure if you all remember me speaking in previous newsletters of our joint efforts to minister from time to time to a center for handicapped young people affectionately called the “Miracle House.” The center is a day school for the severely handicapped, primarily autistic boys and girls. For those of you who have ministered alongside us in this center you know the joy we have experienced by being there and you know that you never leave without being more blessed by them than they by us. Recently, I learned that they are in great financial need; and if a miracle does not take place on their behalf, they may have to close the center and the children will either be institutionalized or remain fulltime in the care of their untrained parents. My heart was pressed to email the ministry and ask them personally about their situation. Their response was indeed sorrowful news. So in obedience to the Holy Spirit’s leading, Freddy and I are putting our entire ministry needs aside this month to petition you on their behalf. We first ask that you faithfully pray for this ministry’s needs. If we had not witnessed first hand the deep love and dedication that this center has toward these children or their unprecedented results, we would have no reason to make this appeal. However, when God enlightens you with wisdom and insight He also expects you to become responsible for that knowledge. We feel God is pressing our hearts to ask you if there is any financial help you can give to keep the doors of this ministry open. Would you ask God what it might be? This ministry does not know that I am writing about their needs in our newsletter; however, God has deeply pressed our hearts to do so! He reminded us of over 2 years ago when He then pressed our hearts to give a donation to this ministry. Never did we envision then that we were sowing a seed into a home that would in turn open their doors to ministry by our foundation and by so many of the teams that have come through us in the past two years. Indeed God’s ways are higher than our ways and His plan far beyond what we can see. My heart physically hurts to think these handicapped young people will be left undeveloped and forgotten if this ministry closes. As I write this I write it with a hurting heart asking that you search deep within your own hearts to see what you can give to continue the physical and socialization training for these young bodies and minds. This is not just any detention center for the handicapped but is a school that works with each young person individually, helping them to achieve all they can be and training them to see themselves as special gifts rather than stigmatized as retarded non-achievers. Their need is great! I understand through their response to me that for them to get out of this crisis it would take $5,000.00. Our ministry doesn’t have that kind of money, but we serve a God who does. With your prayers for this center we can bombard Heaven and HE will be faithful to answer our prayers.

Truly I feel this is what the body of Christ is all about, being there for others who are in need. So many times we have the mindset of “me, my four and no more!” However, with this attitude we will never learn the concepts that Paul was trying to teach us in 2Cor. 9:5-15. Paul is trying to teach us the law of increase, increase that comes as we willingly give unto others. He was reminding the Corinthians of their reasonable responsibility. He praised them that they had arrived spiritually in many other areas. (verse 8 or 2Cor. 8;) They had excelled in everything - in faith, in speech, in knowledge, in complete earnestness or zeal, and in love. Wow! Could you imagine all those areas actively present and working within the body of Christ today? However, despite their excellent attributes, they were lacking in effective giving. Paul was urging them to also excel in their giving, by honoring a commitment they had made a year earlier (2Cor.8: 10). Paul says in verse <8 of 2Cor. 8> “I do not speak according to a command, but through the eagerness of others, and testing the trueness of your love.”

Lifting up the needs of others before our own needs can and will cause the heart of God to look toward us. Why do I say that? Look at 2Cor.9:7b; “God loves a cheerful giver. (Amp says, He takes pleasure in, prizes above other things, your giving.” Giving comes in many ways. Some of us don’t have the funds to give but we do have the mind to touch God with our prayers. God loves and delights in a cheerful giver who will put aside his or her own needs for the needs of others. I believe that is why Paul says it is not a command, but through the eagerness of others and testing the trueness of your love. The Corinthians, though renown for their faith, knowledge, speech and love, were then asked to prove their faith and their love through their “giving”.

Like Paul, Freddy and I thank God for His grace that He has given us to help lay a foundation on which others will build. Ministry growth is a team effort, a shared ministry. And shared ministry was the answer for Moses’ busy days (Ex.18: 13-24), for Jesus’ growing ministry (Mk.3: 13-15), for the growing needs of the early church (Acts 6:1-7), and for the demanding schedules of our pastors today. God still can and will use all of His disciples in His extended ministry. Not all serve in the same way, but all are called to serve. You all have been serving with us for the last 5 years and your service has not gone unnoticed. God sees all of you and knows your faithfulness every month as you willingly help advance His Kingdom. You are truly laying a foundation for others to build on; and that foundation is none other than Jesus Christ Himself.

Paul wrote in 2Cor. 4:13; “For we, having the same spirit of faith (according as it is written, "I believed, and therefore I have spoken"); we also believed and therefore speak.” (Ps.116: 10) By faith we step out in agreement with this other ministry to be the lifter of arms, as Aaron was with Moses and with the same spirit of faith that Paul spoke of. We know that with God all things are possible. We believe that the “House of Miracles” will have increase and pray that you too will labor with us in prayer for this need. We know that all things are for the grace of God to spread through many so that it will cause thanksgiving to abound to the glory of God!

Quote from Ms. Mariana Ilies’ email: We have only 9 employees for (the) center, for (the) store and for (the) association (specialists). Now we need $2,941 USD/ monthly. We need $5,000 USD for 33 teen-agers to get us back on a level ground. God bless you. Kindly regards,” (This is a Romanian speaking… so in other words, to pull themselves from this crisis.)

Thank You for Your Response:

We want to say thank you for the many responses we got regarding the newsletter last month. We started getting calls about the P.A. system after you all received our letter. Also, we got calls on our need for clothes to be restocked in the humanitarian. In response to that request we now have bags and bags of clothing waiting to be shipped to Romania. Plus many of you have picked up on the roof projects that I mentioned over the last few months. Thanks to all of you who faithfully have a desire to help us and to make sure that our needs are met. We pray that God will open the floodgates of Heaven and pour you out blessings that you will not have room enough to receive. Jesus says in Luke 6:38; “ Give, and it will be given unto you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.” (NIV) That is our prayer for you all, a good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over will be poured into your lap. God can do it, if only we believe! May God richly bless you is our prayer!

Calea’s Prayer needs:

v Building of walls! Upon our return to Romania in September, Freddy and I will be building walls to partition off the humanitarian building from the transition apartment I mentioned last month. Cost estimated around $2,500.00!

v Safe travel as Freddy and I return, plus an extra-ordinary price on airline tickets!

v Adoption of Alex and Sarah!

v Children’s Program outreaches! Pray God’s Divine Wisdom over Lyn as she leads in this outreach.

v For the ministry outreach in December as Diane Smoot once again brings her team to Romania. This year we already have a team of 25 signed up to come and minister along with us. God has opened new doors in new villages into which we will be going to carry the gospel of Jesus this year.

v Pray that we will have souls won for our labor!

Yours in Christ,

Freddy and Rita
