Despite Hardship:

Despite all the trails and hardships we have experienced this past year, I feel in my spirit that God's glory is going to reign upon us something enormous, glorious, and miraculous this year. I don't mean in a sense by way of material blessings more so than by HIS mighty wonders and plans being produced all around us.

Many have written their concerns about the ministry after the death of Ms. Lyn Dennis and asked if or how we would continue our work. In response, we would like to share what is upon our hearts. Long ago GOD offered an invitation for Freddy and I to join Him in HIS work and we took up that torch in 1998. Today, God continually extends HIS outstretched hand for us to join HIM at work. More than ever, we feel honored that God has chosen and entrusted us with such an awesome task. Personally, I don't feel abandoned by God, I feel new heights and greater paths are awaiting us in ministry. Of course, we must look to JESUS the AUTHOR AND FINISHER OF OUR FAITH.

There is not a day that goes by that we at Calea do not miss Ms. Lyn, her life and presence was such apart of our everyday. She will constantly be apart of us as we continue to pursue God’s path for ministry. When God called us, we did not know anything about Romania or anybody, nor did we ever anticipate anyone working with us in the beginning. Since then, we have been able to see HIM work things far beyond our own understanding and witness the mighty power of God as others came and took up the torch with us.  Perhaps what I am feeling is that God wants to push us on toward those NEW HEIGHTS and that GREATER VISION as HE demonstrates to us His perfect will. Our responsibility as a "CALLED OUT ONE" is to keep our eyes fully focused upon Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior and TRUST in HIM who knows all things. There is a deeper passion within us as if we are being cheered by those who have gone on before. Remember in the Word it says, "We are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses that have gone on before.”  They have labored for the faith and now they are cheering us on, waiting to see our end results.  I believe God will show HIS glory unto us this year in far more ways than we can envision. Our daily prayer is that His glory will excel through more lives being touched with the message of JESUS CHRIST OUR LORD AND SAVIOR. God has already begun to enlighten our path as to what must be accomplished during the year and as long as HE leads, we will do our best to press on toward the "MARK OF HIS HIGH CALLING."  TO HIM BE ALL THE GLORY!

Thank you for your encouragement and prayers during the passing of our friend Lyn who was indeed one great volunteer, we will forever miss her.

 Goals for 2007:

This year our goals are to continue the repairs on the church building in the village of Ferma Larga. Our vision for 2007 is to have teams once again come and do whatever work is needful. Personally, we would like to be able to break down more walls for even larger space, install more windows, plaster and paint the rooms inside that have already been enlarged, install electric outlets throughout the building, and to cement/plaster the outside. Of course, this is depending upon the qualifications the team members will have. If the work cannot be done by team members from aboard and if the finances allow us after the purchase of materials, we will once again hire some Romanian workers.  In the meantime, our vision is to continue the weekly children programs and biweekly ladies Bible studies. Also, this year we would like to begin teaching the older children who attend our programs some basic computer skills. We already have two used computers and if we can acquire some extra funds we would like to purchase three more from the second hand store so that we could have at least five computers for a classroom.  I know with the lack of volunteers we will be pushed to our limit, especially this summer for it is always our busy season. We will need prayer warriors to stand faithfully with us interceding for strength and God’s anointing to flow supernaturally upon us as we pursue the path God desires for the ministry this year.

Adoption Update of Alex and Sarah:

Barbara received the new birth certificates and the Romanian passports for both the girls. They are officially CAVER children! To God be the glory! The next step is to get the girls to Bucharest for medical exams and the visa interview.  On February7th she and the girls have the appointment for the interview . Please pray with us that all paperwork will be in order and that the visas will be issued that day. Thank you for praying for us.

WE GRATEFULLY THANK YOU!

We would like to express our gratefulness for the financial contribution and prayers for our ministry. Without your help, we would not have been able to accomplish all the work that God continues to place upon our hearts. Even more we would not have the opportunity to see God’s mighty hand moving in such a miraculous way as lives are touched by HIS Word. We feel the year 2007 will be a great success and mighty things are going to be done for the kingdom of God. Your generosity and help is always an inspiration to us.

Yours in Christ,

Freddy and Rita
