Higher Ground Project:

Last month I reported to you that we were able to purchase a very small house for Alex’s family so that the adoption process would not be hindered any longer. I would like to update you on the progress of this family. I learned through Barbara when she went to check on them that they were doing extremely well. She was very impressed with the improvements they had already made to their home. She reported that the house was very neat and orderly and that the father had found work for 30,000 lei per day, which exchanged is around $1.00. The family was overwhelmed with excitement in finding this work. Can you imagine being so excited over making $1.00 a day? How many of us would even bother to get out of bed for a dollar per day? We Americans look at a dollar bill as having no value at all, yet give them a dollar and they feel very blessed. We give our children more than that in a day just to do with it as they please. Aren’t we so blessed to be an American! Personally knowing how God has lifted this family up I can understand their joy over the newly found work. Also, the children were so thrilled that they too were able to work some with surrounding neighbors and were paid eggs or milk for the labor. Praise Jesus! Isn’t it great to see the excitement of others when God works in such mighty ways in their lives? God loves to see our joyous spirit when He blesses and when He moves to bring us into the realm of His plans. His greatest desire is to see the abundance of our hearts rejoicing over His blessings.

Lyn’s Update:

I would like to give you all an update on Lyn: Lyn stayed in the hospital for almost 2 weeks having test after test. However, as of March 21, she was able to return home (to Calea.) We are so glad she is back! She is doing much better and sounds stronger than she has been in a long time. She is still taking medicine for the kidney stones and she is having some calcium treatments. Yet she seems to be very inspired as to how God brought everything together so that the correct and thorough examination and diagnosis could be given. I truly believe that through so many praying that God directed her at the right time to every doctor He had already prepared for her. Praise Jesus!

Ministry continues:

· We had a great time as we ministered at First Assembly of God in Calera. We appreciate Pastor Alexander and his church family for the warm welcome and the generous love offering.

· On March 13th we had a live interview on our local radio station. Boy, was I nervous! However, a special thank you to our Pastor Randy Reid that made the interview a peaceful time of sharing about God’s work in Romania.

· Also, on March 13th, I spoke at Mount Carmel #1 Baptist ladies W M’s. A special thank you for their deep concern for our work in Romania. You all were such a blessing to me. God bless you!

· On March 21, I ministered to the women in the county jail. What a joy it was to share God’s love and forgiveness to those ladies. All that day I had prayed God allow Your Word to go forth and accomplish that which You are sending it to do. Hallelujah! After I finished one lady received Jesus Christ as Savior! I ask that you pray with me that the Holy Spirit will keep the evil one from her. I know that regardless of her past she now has a future in Jesus. And even though she is responsible to pay for her wrong, God is more than able to give her love, joy, and peace. The fruit of His Holy Spirit can bring the needed comfort. The amazing thing about speaking at the jail was the night before Ms. Eloise called I woke up suddenly hearing these words, “Take every opportunity to share Jesus.” Isn’t God so good!

March 24, we spoke at Church at Bethel. A special thank you to Pastor Wayne Hughes and the church family for their gracious offering and the time of fellowship following the service. We appreciate everything you have done to help with the support of the ministry.

Construction, Construction:

You all know that this summer we are planning on remodeling some of the house. We plan on being able to have another bathroom

put in and 2 rooms finished for the use of a nursery. We also plan to have our roof replaced. Last winter that was one of the first things we found out that was wrong with the house. After the first big snow we started hearing, “drop, drop, drop,” from one room

only to find out afterward that a huge amount of snow was melting on the inside of the loft.

With summer rains coming we just pray everything will be okay until we get it repaired. I ask that you all pray for these construction projects. I found out this week we will need $3,000.00 just for the repair of the roof. I know that God is able to bring everything together. Cyril Englert a building contractor from Indiana, recommended by Pastor Gene Throop is praying about a 3-week trip to Romania to volunteer his services to repair the roof. The reason for this urgent prayer is because Mr. Englert has to schedule his trip around his building contracts here is America. We will need to know quickly if we will be able to purchase the materials.

David and Diane Smoot along with 6 others will be June to install the bathroom and make the nursery. We need to be able to purchase the materials and have it on site before the team gets there. The cost of these projects is over our monthly support. Our monthly support meets our monthly budget only and not the extra projects we do. All ministry projects such as dry feedings, constructions of playgrounds like the one that we built last year, etc, must have the resources and finances raised in advance outside the budget. Please agree with us that God will provide for these needs quickly.

Returning to Romania:

On April 9th, I will be returning to Romania. I am going back earlier than I had planned; however, at this time it is most needful. Lyn is still going to have to take time to rest and care for her self. Be in prayer as I travel. I am looking forward to seeing all that God is about to bring together this year. My spirit is soaring! I feel that God is about to move is some mighty way. I have felt this feeling before and so I know God is moving to accomplish His Will.

I ask that you pray with me that God will have His way in the ministry outreaches. Pray for us all at Calea that God will lift us up to hear and see him more clearly. He has a plan for Calea as we began to head up our summer activities. We all ask that you pray with us that He will move as He wills.

Thanks:

Thank you, for helping us with your monthly gifts to plant more into the lives of the Romania people. I was studying last week in Luke 13:6-8, “The parable of the barren fig tree.” As I read and studied these verses, I could not help but visualize the work in Romania and Jesus coming to see if there was any fruit on the tree. I thought,” God, You must have found something still bearing fruit because you are still moving and soaring within my heart to continue. You are still saying press forward to the mark of that high calling.” I found myself praying, “Bring us increase, Lord. Bring forth through us the fruit that you want to bear this year. That is my prayer for you too. Increase! You have faithfully stood with us in the work, you have helped us plant, water, and heard us talk about reaping the fruit of the work. I often find myself thinking as David prayed in 2 Sam. 7: 18, “Who am I, O Sovereign Lord and what is my family, that you have brought us this far?” Who am I Lord that you would set in my path godly people whose heart is set on helping those less fortunate than we.

My heart is ever grateful for your love and generosity to monthly sow a seed into the lives of the children and families of Romania. May God bring forth a mighty harvest for your work in the vineyard! You are like the vinedresser who said, give me one more year, Master. Lord, I will dig around the root and fertilize this tree to see if it will bring forth fruit. If there is no fruit you can cut it down after one year. You have faithfully seen that there are still lives out there to reach. Thank you for agreeing to dig and fertilize the vineyard for another year. I believe when God looks at your faithfulness this year He will be pleased with the fruit you have produced. God bless and be fruitful in the grace of Jesus is my prayer.

I have been singing this song every day lately, it goes like this:

Without Him I would be nothing

Without Him I surely fail

Without Him I would be drifting

Like a ship with out a sail

Jesus---Oh---Jesus

Do you know Him today?

You can’t turn Him away

Oh--- Jesus---Oh---Jesus

Without Him ---How lost I would be?

My prayer is that this will stay in my heart so that I will be more inspired to share with others that “Without HIM” life would be hopeless.

Yours in Christ,

Freddy and Rita
